Peace is Not the Absence of Storm

True peace is not found in perfect circumstances, but in a steady heart anchored in God.

Peace is a beautiful feeling. Sometimes, when something that needed to be done is finally completed, a wave of calm overwhelms you. That quiet relief, that stillness, is peace. And sometimes, peace is simply quiet.

But most times, we misunderstand it. Many people believe that peace only exists when everything is going well. When there is no trouble, no delay, no storm, that must be peace. And when challenges arise, they assume peace has disappeared.

In truth, peace is not the absence of storms. Peace is the calm you feel within, even when there is trouble around you.

There was a moment when Jesus was in a boat and a storm arose. While the waves crashed and the people around Him panicked, He remained calm, even sleeping. The storm did not disturb Him, because His peace was not dependent on the condition of the sea.

That is the kind of peace God offers, not a life without storms, but a heart that remains steady in the middle of them.

Storms will come, that is part of life. But I am learning that peace is not something I wait for when everything becomes easy. It is something I receive from God and choose to protect, even when life feels uncertain. And that kind of peace, the one that steadies your heart in the middle of chaos, is the kind I am holding on to.
